October 2020 A Very Witchy Samhain
By Invitation Only, A Red Tent Welcome Sister Event
October 10th, 2020 at 6 pm MST (8 pm EST) via Zoom
Welcome Sister,

Thank you for your interest in becoming part of our beautiful community of women and Sacred Sisterhood. Our October gathering is priestessed by one of our longest members, Donna Greg. Please join me in honoring our common ancestors, the witches; those herb women, healers, midwives, wise and wild women who preceded us and gifted us their knowing. Let us gather to honor and shine a light on their wisdom. Gather your witchy wisdom, Ladies, it’s time to celebrate Samhain!
Samhain was originally a Celtic (Irish/Scottish) celebration of the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. It is also a time of year when the veil between the worlds is thinner and so communication with the ancestors is cherished. Bonfires and costumes for story telling dances were the celebrants’ primary activities – not trick or treating.
As we discuss the history of Samhain and how it became the holiday it is, we will also talk about the transition from ancient witch to modern one. What tools can we use to magnify our brilliance? What gifts have passed down? Which have been lost? What knowledge do you hold, sweet sister, passed down from your grandmother’s grandmother? Do you have secret wisdom to share? Do you dare?
There are many instruments used by our grandmothers to assist in the creation of their world. Let’s make one to help in ours.

What is Red Tent?
Each Tent offered is an opportunity to enter the Temple of the Goddess. A Divine honor and privilege to be alive in a place and space in time where we are safe and free to gather. Together, we are healing our wounds of suffering and silence from the past. As we heal, our healing ripples across time and space reaching through the portal of time. To be seen by the Goddess and witnessed by our Sisters is more powerful than you can imagine!

Interested in learning more about Red Tent?
The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant, is the book that has inspired a Global Movement. Women who read this book unlock an ancient memory and longing to gather with other women and remember who they are as sacred and holy vessels of Spirit. There is also a wonderful documentary I officially endorse under Nectar of Life Counseling called Things We Don't Talk About: Women's Stories from the Red Tent.
Not sure about how Christianity and the Goddess can co-exist?
Dance of the Dissident Daughter, by Sue Monk Kidd, opens long hidden secrets of what was dissolved from scripture through intentional acts of erasing the value and importance of women. The research has already been expertly done by a self-proclaimed conventionally religious woman.
